Two of the most common approaches to product management are agile and scrum. Given the similarities between the two, it is easy to understand why they can sometimes be confused but they are in fact two distinct concepts.

Here is a look at what scrum and agile mean in product management , how they are different from on another.

Lets start with Agile.

What is Agile ?

Agile is a methodology used for project and software management.

Agile is best suited for projects with small expert team, with team handling all changes.

Agile is long term process with simple design and execution.

Agile focuses more on interpersonal growth with a less rigid structure.

What is Scrum ?

Scrum focuses on achieving the maximum business value with a less flexible methodology.

Scrum is a slow term process with innovative creation for design and execution

Scrum is a good fit for teams with changing requirements, where issues can be handled by all team members.

Scrum is one of its forms that detail its functions.

Scrum and Agile although have subtle differences, it is important to know them in order to chose the right methodology for product building.
